Various factors have increased the risk of cyber-attacks today. These include growing digitalisation aided by evolving technology, changing ways of working driven by the pandemic and increasingly sophisticated cyber criminal activities.

Recent research from Software Advice highlights that 62% of UK organisations have experienced an increase in cyber threats in the last two years. Also, 39% have been subjected to an attack in 2021, according to the UK government’s Cyber Security Breaches Survey 2022. Phishing attempts (at 83%), were the most common type of attack, as reported by the latter Survey, with around one in five (21%) identifying a more sophisticated attack type such as a denial of service, malware, or ransomware
attack.
